1 General information

1.1 What are cookies?

We use cookies and related technologies (hereinafter referred to as cookies) to provide you with the best possible website experience. Many useful functions of our website cannot be realized without the use of cookies.

A cookie is a small file that stores Internet settings. It is loaded by the Internet browser the first time you visit a website. The next time you visit this website, the cookie and the information stored in it is either transmitted to the website that created it (first party cookie) or to another website to which it belongs (third party cookie). This enables the website to recognize that you have already visited it with this browser. Other web technologies are used for similar purposes, so we also refer to these technologies as “cookies” in this context.

Most of the cookies we use are deleted from your hard disk at the end of the browser session (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your computer and enable us to recognize your computer on your next visit (so-called persistent cookies).

1.2 Managing cookies

When you visit our website, you have the option of finding out about the type of cookies we use and accepting or rejecting their use. Without your prior consent, we will only use strictly necessary cookies.

Most Internet browsers also allow you to manage the use of cookies, e.g. to accept or reject all cookies or to accept only certain cookies. If necessary, you can also set your browser to inform you about the placement of cookies. The options for managing and deleting cookies can be found in the documentation integrated in the respective browser.

In addition, individual service providers also offer separate options for deactivating the respective cookies.

If cookies are deactivated for our website, it may no longer be possible to use all functions of the website to their full extent.

1.3 Information and rights of the data subject

If cookies collect or otherwise process personal data, please also note the information about us and your rights as a data subject contained in our privacy policy.

1.4 Consent and revocation

If you have given us your consent to the use of cookies, you can revoke this at any time with effect for the future.

Depending on their function and intended use, cookies can be divided into categories, namely strictly necessary cookies, analytical cookies or cookies for marketing purposes.

2.1 Strictly necessary cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are essential for the proper functioning and optimization of the website and cannot be deactivated. They are normally only set in the course of user actions, for example as a result of logging in, setting user preferences, ordering processes or form entries. For example, we require cookies for the following functions on our website:

User login, consent management, shopping cart, assigning an advisor, fraud prevention, completing an order, remembering search terms, performing and optimizing website functions, providing content.

The data collected in this way is not used to create user profiles. As a rule, these cookies are only stored on your end device during the current browser session. However, some elements of our website require that the accessing browser can be identified even after a page change.

We do not pass the data on to third parties unless this is done by our service providers as part of so-called order processing, whereby they are contractually bound and we remain responsible for the processing of the data in this respect.

2.2 Functional cookies

Functional cookies are used to provide enhanced functionalities and content via the website. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we use on our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, some or all of these services may not work or may not work properly.

The functional cookies described below are only used with your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.

2.3 Analytical cookies

Analytical cookies help us to learn more about the type and scope of website visits and their origin and thus to continuously improve the attractiveness of our website. We use cookies to find out which of our websites are particularly popular and which are less popular and how visitors navigate them. We also receive this information in aggregated form from third parties who assist us with the analysis.

The analytical cookies described below are only used with your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.

2.3.1 Starzz Cookie

We use cookies for website analysis in order to measure and analyze the success of our online advertising activities and our website. For this purpose, we use cookies with your consent, which process a cookie ID and the originating website from which you visit our website.

The cookies lose their validity after 30 days at the latest.

No data is transferred to third parties.

2.3.2 Google Analytics

For website analysis, we use Google (Universal) Analytics technology, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses analytical cookies for marketing and optimization purposes. The following data is processed:

Online identifier (including cookie identifiers), IP address and device identifiers, identifiers assigned by the customer.

This data can be used to create user profiles under a pseudonym. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there; the IP address is not transmitted.

This cookie loses its validity after 2 years.

You can prevent this cookie from using your data by downloading and installing browser add-ons to deactivate Google Analytics here. As an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent the collection of your

data by Google Analytics by opting out of the “Analytical cookies” item in the cookie settings. To prevent Universal Analytics from collecting data across different devices, you must opt out on all systems used.

2.3.3 GOOGLE SIGNALS

As part of the use of Google services (see above), we also use “Google Signals” for marketing purposes. We thus receive cross-device information about users who visit our website with different browsers or devices (cross-device tracking), provided that the user is logged in with a Google account and has activated the “personalized advertising” function in their account settings.

In this case, information is collected about your activities on the websites you visit (e.g. location of the end user, search history and data on websites of Google partners). Usage profiles are created from this cross-device information, but these are only available to us (Starzz) in aggregated form and do not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person and therefore no personal identification.

We would like to point out that Google itself has the option of assigning the usage data to individual users because they are logged in via their Google account. If you do not want this, we recommend that you deactivate the “personalized advertising” option in your Google account settings here.

This cookie loses its validity after 26 months.

2.4 Cookies for marketing purposes

Cookies for marketing purposes are set directly by our website or by our advertising partners. They make it possible to create interest profiles based on your surfing behavior and to show you personalized advertising. Although no direct personal reference is established, the cookies can uniquely identify your browser and your device.

The following cookies are only used for marketing purposes with your consent. If you do not allow these cookies, you will receive significantly less personalized advertising. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

2.4.1 Google Ads

This website uses the online advertising program “Google Ads”, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”), and, as part of this, conversion tracking and remarketing.

With the help of these cookies, user actions (conversions) can be tracked with the aim of measuring and improving the effectiveness of advertisements. Remarketing can be used to address users who have already interacted with our website. Our ads are delivered when you visit a Google website or website in the Google advertising network.

Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of Ads customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Ads customers find out the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. The remarketing cookie is used to display our ads in the advertising network in a target group-oriented manner. However, the cookies do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified.

This cookie loses its validity after 30 days.

2.4.2 Bing Ads

We use technologies from Bing Ads, which are provided and operated by Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA (Microsoft).

For this purpose, a cookie is set on your computer for marketing purposes if you have reached our website via Bing or Yahoo, so that we can recognize that someone has clicked on an ad, has been redirected to our website and has reached a previously determined target page (conversion page). We only learn the total number of users who clicked on a Bing ad and were then forwarded to the conversion page.

Microsoft collects, processes and uses information via the cookie, from which user profiles are created using pseudonyms. These user profiles are used to analyze visitor behavior and are used to display advertisements. No personal information about the identity of the user is processed. Further information on data protection and the cookies used by Microsoft and Bing Ads can be found on the Microsoft website here.

This cookie loses its validity after 180 days.

2.4.3 Facebook

Facebook cookies from Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (Meta) are used on our website for analysis and marketing purposes.

2.4.3.1

With the help of these Facebook cookies, reports and analyses can be created about the use of our website and the products and services provided there, which help us to evaluate the effectiveness of measures and advertising campaigns and to improve them accordingly in the future. The following data categories are processed: Contact information, e.g. name, e-mail address, telephone number for matching purposes; event data, e.g. use of the website or purchase of products.

This data is stored and processed by Facebook on our behalf.

Further information on this can be found in the Terms of Use for Business Tools and the Facebook Data Processing Terms.

2.4.3.2

On the basis of Facebook cookies and the processing of data in accordance with section 2.4.4.1, visitors to our website can still be determined as a target group for the display of ads. Accordingly, Facebook ads are displayed to users who have shown a potential interest (e.g. by visiting a specific topic page on our website). The contact information and event data specified in section 2.4.4.1 are processed for these purposes.

This data is stored and processed by Facebook and matched with the respective Facebook user profile. In accordance with the Facebook Business Tool Terms of Use, this data may also be used by Facebook for its own purposes.

There is joint responsibility with Facebook for the collection and transmission of the data. Against this background, we have concluded a “Controller Addendum” agreement with Facebook to define the respective responsibilities for fulfilling the obligations under the GDPR with regard to joint processing. Accordingly, Meta is responsible for enabling the rights of data subjects in accordance with Articles 15-20 of the GDPR with regard to the personal data stored by Facebook after joint processing and for providing us with the information provided here.

For more information about Facebook as the controller and the contact details of the Facebook data protection officer, as well as how Facebook processes the personal data in question, including the legal basis on which Facebook relies and the options for exercising data subjects’ rights vis-à-vis Facebook, please refer to Facebook’s data policy here.
